The colorimeter is designed to perform fast and precise color measurements of surfaces. The color ranges CIE-LAB, CIE-LCh, HunterLab, CIE-Luv, XYZ, RGB of the color can be determined with the colorimeter. The colorimeter is equipped with an LED with a wavelength of 400 ... 700 nm. The measuring aperture of the colorimeter is Ø8 mm. Despite its compact design, the colorimeter has a repeatability of ΔE*ab≤0.1.
In addition to normal color measurement, the colorimeter can also determine color differences. To do this, a reference measurement is first performed with the colorimeter on any reference. Subsequently, measurements can be performed on test specimens with the colorimeter. The colorimeter again displays the difference between the reference and the test specimen. A permissible tolerance can also be stored in the colorimeter. If the tolerance is adhered to, this is indicated by a green display on the colorimeter. If the measured color is outside the tolerance, this is signaled by the colorimeter with a red display.
The Bluetooth interface can be used to establish a connection to an Android-compatible end device. The free Colorimeter app can be downloaded from the Play Store. Measurement parameters can be changed from the app to the colorimeter. In addition, the measurement can be performed via the app. The measurement result is then displayed directly in the app. This means, for example, that measurement comparisons can be performed via the app to the colorimeter. If measured values are stored on the colorimeter, they can be read out via the app. The colorimeter can therefore be used for quality control in a print shop, for example, to check the print result, or in the automotive industry to check the sprayed-on paint.
